IMPORTANT TIPS against TICKS!
Everyone knows them, these annoying bloodsuckers: Ticks are dangerous carriers of disease. Therefore, after hunting, you should definitely check if you have been infested with ticks. To avoid an extremely dangerous tick bite, we have some tips for you here!
PREVENTING TICK BITES
Avoid staying in tall grass or undergrowth as much as possible. Ticks feel particularly comfortable in the leaf litter in the forest, as temperatures there are moderate even in winter and humidity is high. Away from paved paths, there is always an increased risk of ticks in the forest! Clothing can also serve as tick protection: In addition to tick-repellent trousers, you should also wear closed clothing with long sleeves and long trousers in the forest even on warmer days. Ticks do not climb higher than 1.50 meters and therefore prefer to cling to trouser legs. Rubber boots can also help to make it more difficult for ticks to reach the skin. Under the boots, anti-tick socks are a safe companion.
IMPORTANT after FORESTRY WORK!
Consciously check your entire body for ticks after spending time in the forest. Ticks are tiny and crawl around on the body and clothing to find a suitable biting spot for bloodsucking. They prefer thin and warm areas of skin, such as the back of the knees, stomach and chest area, and armpits.
